The second selection allows schools with remaining capacity to fill empty spots. The selection depends on the availability of vacancies in schools and the candidates’ choices during first selection. Students who scored higher in their National examination council of Tanzania (NECTA) Form Four exams will be given priority.

To be part of the TAMISEMI second selection, you need to have applied for Form Five studies in the first place. During the first selection, you chose schools you were interested in. The TAMISEMI system will now match you to any schools on your list with remaining space. The more schools you chose originally, the better your chances of being matched now.

First, you must have completed Form Four and received your Form Four National Examination results. Second, you were unable to secure placement in a government secondary school during the initial Form Five selection.

Students with higher scores, especially in three subjects which make Advanced level subject combination like English, Kiswahili and history (HKL), Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and any other combination recognized by NECTA, you have a better chance of being selected.

TAMISEMI First Selection Statistics 2023/2024

The Selection Exercise for students to join Form Five in Advanced Level Secondary Government Schools, Teaching Colleges, Vocational, and Intermediate Government Colleges in 2023 has concluded on June 11, 2023. This exercise was conducted using the statistics of the results of students who took the Fourth Form Examination in 2022 in Mainland Tanzania.

The selected students include those from Government and non-Government Schools, as well as independent candidates who took the exam under the Institute of Adult Education and Citizen Development Colleges.

In TAMISEMI first selection, a total of 188,128 students who met the criteria have been selected and assigned to join the Fifth Form in various schools in the country as well as Colleges of various disciplines as follows:

129,830 students, including 66,343 girls and 63,487 boys, equal to 69 percent of those with qualifications, have been selected to join 540 Fifth Form Secondary Schools, including 29 new schools starting this year 2023 with the following analysis.

1,878 students including 1,097 girls and 781 boys have been assigned to 8 special secondary schools in Kilakala, Mzumbe, Ilboru, Kisimiri, Msalato, Kibaha, Tabora Boys and Tabora Girls.

122,908 students, including 62,731 girls and 60,177 boys, have been assigned to 519 National Secondary Boarding Schools for the Fifth Form. 5,044 students, including 2,515 girls and 2,529 boys, are enrolled in 11 Fifth Form Full Day Secondary Schools.

1. Open any web browser on your smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop and go to the TAMISEMI official website at selform.tamisemi.go.tz ( Click on the link to open directly or copy and paste it on your browser url field)
2. Then click on the “Selection Results” as shown on the image below

3. Once the page is fully loaded, you will see “Second Selection Results 2023“.
4. Note: If you are unable to find the second selection link, it means that has not yet been released by Tamisemi.
5. After you click on the “Second Selection 2023”, you’ll be redirected to a page where you will find a list of regions in Tanzania. Clicking on the region will take you to a new page containing a list of districts within that region. You should then click on the district Council, where you completed ordinary level education.
6. Then click on the name of secondary school where you completed
7. Scroll down to locate your name, or enter your Form Four Examination number in the search form to narrow the list and speed up the process.
8. Once you’ve found your name, you may download and print the joining instruction and read it to e familiar with the school and rules before joining the school.
