Eligibility For The Higher Education Students Loan Application In Tanzania

General criteria require the loan applicant to meet the conditions the following: –

  1. Must be a Tanzanian (as defined by HESLB Act No. 9 of 2004, as amended).
  2. Must have send his/her interest for the loan through the HESLB Online Loan Application System (OLAS).
  3. Applicant must have been admitted as a full-time student into a Higher Learning Institution and be in the process of pursuing a Higher Diploma / First Degree on a full-time basis through the Central Admission System (CAS) or other accepted systems recognized by TCU and NACTEVET.
  4. Applicant must be a person who is not fully funded by other organizations or sources offering higher education student loans board.
  5. For undergraduate applicants, he should not be employed by government or private sector
  6. A student applying for a loan to continue his studies with a copy of his results slip showing the achievement of his studies to enable him to continue his studies for a year following or going to another stage of studies.
  7. A beneficiary student who wishes to apply for another loan after his discontinuation from college must pay back at least 25 percent of his original loan before applying for a new loan. The repayment does not serve as collateral for the new loan.
