Tengeru Institute of Community Development Courses Offered, Kozi Zinazotolewa na Chuo Cha Maendeleo Ya Jamii Tengelu: The Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD), formerly known as the Community Development Training Institute (CDTI-Tengeru), was formally created in 1963 and later reestablished in 2013 under the Tengeru Institute of Community Development Establishment order, 2013.

Since its founding, the Institute has been formally run by the ministry in charge of community development. The TICD establishment order, 2013, which granted the TICD an independent status, was officially operationalized in 2013 as a result of resolutions passed by the URT parliamentary body.

The Institute’s earliest operations (1960s) were concentrated on providing orientation programs to extension officers to equip them with the abilities needed to catalyze community actions. Early in the 1980s, advanced diploma programs were created, and the Institute simultaneously offered additional formal study for the Certificate in community development award.
