Sokoine University of Agriculture Courses Offered 2022/2023, Kozi zinazotolewa Chuo Cha Sua Morogoro: Sokoine University of Agriculture was founded on July 1, 1984, by Parliamentary Act No. 14 of 1984, which amended Parliamentary Act No. 6 of the same year. Following the Act’s repeal, the institution currently operates under the Sokoine University of Agriculture Charter, 2007, within the general framework of the Universities Act, 2005.

SUA was divided into Faculties, Directorates, Institutes, Centres, and administrative Departments/Units when it first opened its doors in 1984. It began with three faculties: Agriculture, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine. Subsequently, the following faculties, institutes and general offices were established.

Research and Postgraduate Research Department (1986), Institute for Continuing Education (1988), Institute for Development Studies (1988), Sokoine National Agricultural Library (1991), Computer Center (1993), Faculty of Science (1999), SUA Sustainability Center Rural Development (1999) and Pest Management Center (2000).

Duration Of Various Sokoine University of Agriculture Courses Offered

Sokoine University of Agriculture provides three-year bachelor’s degrees (six semesters), two-year diplomas (four semesters), and one-year certificates (2 Semesters). While the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine is available in 5 years, the BSc. in Bioprocess and Post-Harvest Engineering, and the BSc. in Irrigation and Water Resources Engineering are both provided in 4 years (8 semesters) (10 Semesters). Every application is available in full-time mode.

When To Apply For Corses Offered At Sokoine University of Agriculture?

Each year, between June and July, suitable individuals are invited to submit their applications. After the university has reviewed and approved the applications, successful candidates are notified between September and October. Fall semester begins in October or November.

Applicants who are not Tanzanians and whose certificates are not granted by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) or the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) are recommended to email an application letter and copies of their academic certificates to [email protected].

Applicants having foreign secondary school certificates should make arrangements with the National Examinations Council (NECTA) and/or NACTE for equivalency translation before submitting their applications.

All applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of ten thousand Tanzanian shillings (10,000/= or USD 30 for non-Tanzanians).
