The Confederation of African Football (CAF) made an important announcement on November 29, 2019, revealing plans for the creation of the African Super League. At the FIFPRO Africa Congress, held in Gaborone, Botswana, CAF President Motsepe provided further details about the highly anticipated tournament. He announced that the African Super League, set to begin later this year, will mark its first edition. Clubs Participating In Africa Super League 2023
In this upcoming CAF Super league, eight elite teams from Africa will compete in a single group format, playing home-and-away matches against each other. The competition promises to be an intense showcase of Africa’s immense talent and passion as these teams battle it out for ultimate glory.
In a significant advancement for African football, the Executive Committee responsible for the African Super League has announced that the preliminary phase of the tournament will feature 24 teams. However, for its debut edition which is viewed as a trial run, the number of participating clubs will be curtailed to eight.
This news was disclosed during an inspection tour of TP Mazembe stadium, which has been granted CAF authorization to stage interclub and global matches. Below we have brought you table with all clubs that are confirmed to participate in the inaugurated 2023/2024 CAF Super League competition.
